An anonymous historian and author has written, "There origins of the place name where Mama Mary of Piat was enshrined comes from "aggapiya," meaning "healer, masseuse," and a more credible version has also said that the place is derived from the Ibanag and Itawes word "piya" which means "goodness, kindness, health."
May we all be drawn more deeply into the goodness and kindness of Mama Mary of Piat to his son Jesus Christ with the communion to the Holy Trinity through God's life-giving Word, all the angels and saints with our brothers and sisters in Christ, through His Holy Sacraments, and through our love for each other.
